Happiness Initiatives Launched to Promote Positivity in Sudan

Khartoum, The Private Office: Today marks the launch of the Happiness Initiatives, a community-driven platform dedicated to fostering positivity and spreading happiness across local environments in Sudan. Operating under the slogan “For a More Positive Society”, the initiative was established by the Happiness Council to provide practical tools and promote sustainable happiness skills directly to youth. Supported by motivational approaches and scientific research showing that happier people are healthier, live longer, earn more, and perform better in life, the platform aims to achieve, teach, and amplify sustainable happiness.

In this context, Ms. Shaimaa Saber, Head of the Happiness Initiatives at the Private Office, emphasized that the launch of these initiatives under the slogan “Inspiring Positivity Across Society” reflects the Office’s commitment to national responsibility by developing and embracing purposeful programs aimed at spreading the values of positivity, happiness, and individual development.

She added: “We aim to create a dynamic pool of talent and invest in their productive capacities, enabling a springboard for creativity and excellence within communities. A collective of happy individuals forms a happy society, and that contributes directly to Sudan’s development.”

Ms. Kristina Khair, Director of External Relations and International Cooperation at the Private Office, praised the role of youth in serving society and called for greater investment in this demographic. She noted: “Sudan is home to immense youthful energy. They are a powerful force in shaping hope for our society, equipped with the determination to build a better tomorrow. That’s why we must harness our ideas and energy to uplift and transform our communities, analyze our challenges, and work together to find locally relevant solutions that meet our shared aspirations.”

Under this umbrella, the initiative will launch several projects and activities, most notably the formation of Community Happiness Teams across various cities. These teams will include representatives from local governments, universities and educational institutions, businesses, health authorities, civil society, and other organizations. Their mission is to systematically implement happiness-focused programs, including the development of a Community Happiness Index.

The concept of happiness and institutional positivity has become one of the leading strategies in modern management, contributing to improved work environments and staff motivation. This initiative is a continuation of the Private Office’s broader strategy to support various sectors and advance organizational practices—ultimately aiming to create a happier society, led by youth.
