Press Release: The Private Office Launches “Stay Safe” Campaign to Raise Awareness on COVID-19
(Khartoum, The Private Office) – Ms. Eman Salama, Media Officer and Official Spokesperson of the Private Office, announced today the launch of the “Stay Safe” campaign to raise community awareness on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Sudan. The campaign responds to the national call to enhance public knowledge on COVID-19 prevention, support local efforts to contain the virus, and mobilize youth, community leaders, families, and all segments of society to unite in confronting the pandemic.
“This awareness campaign aims to educate communities about how the coronavirus spreads, the seriousness of infection, essential health precautions, how to interact with infected individuals, and the importance of physical distancing in crowded areas. It also encourages adherence to daily curfew regulations and advises people to leave their homes only for urgent needs—all conveyed in simple language along with guidance on accessing reliable information from authorities like the World Health Organization.” — Ms. Eman Salama, Spokesperson of the Private Office and the “Stay Safe” Campaign.
Ms. Salama explained that the campaign team—comprising a group of young volunteers—will launch an intensive 30-day digital campaign across social media platforms to disseminate COVID-19 prevention messages. The campaign will feature a wide array of awareness materials and communication messages urging individuals to take responsibility, follow government directives, and raise public awareness at all levels.
The campaign is part of the Private Office’s effort to support local and federal initiatives to inform citizens clearly and accurately, especially amid the widespread circulation of misinformation that can worsen the outbreak. It will also offer important health tips via social media platforms.
